Dear Need 4 Gas: I do not know of any programs assisting with gas. However there are programs which will allow you to save in other areas of your budget which will free up more money for non essentials. Also, some buying clubs like Costco sell gas at cheaper rate and you may not be required to hold a membership to purchase gas from them. In some states it is illegal for them to discriminate bases on membership for the sale of fuel. Check and see. I am posting Costco locations in TX with gas stations. This may be true of any other buyer clubs in you area as well. I believe some Sam's clubs also sell gasoline. Low income households may be eligible for more than one utility program, but non low income households can also get limited help. See link for details about utility assistance programs.
